Finding A Puppy

So, you've done your research, and you're pretty sure you want an Italian Greyhound! Now... how do you find one? The problem is, the not-so-great breeders are learning how to fool people into thinking they are good breeders. They've learned the code words, they've learned some of the red flags, and they are more than willing to deceive you to sell a puppy.

I'm going to go through some of the things, good and bad, and some of the myths, to be aware of when looking for a puppy.  There's a lot of reading... I know.  I'm sorry.  But there's no shortcut to doing your research I'm afraid!

You'll find there's quite a few things to think about.  Please feel free to contact me if you want clarification or if there are other questions you would like to see addressed here.  These pages will naturally evolve and grow over time, so please come back!  Above all, if you are uncertain, ask.  Any reputable breeder will welcome your questions.  Don't be afraid to ask for proof.  Don't be afraid to ask "Why" of anything they do.

I've been told by many people that I shouldn't post the information you are about to read, as it only gives the bad breeders more hints on how to try to deceive you.  I really had to weigh the advantages with  helping the buyer know more against helping the bad breeder cheat.  I decided that is too important to give you all the knowledge I can, and hope that you can see through the bad breeders.
